Banaras Hindu University [BHU] - Overview

In Varanasi, India, there is a central university called Banaras Hindu University (BHU), which was once called Central Hindu College. It has received recognition from the UGC and an "A" grade from the NAAC. As per the NIRF Ranking 2023, BHU holds the 5th position among India's Top Universities. The 1,300-acre BHU Campus is equipped with every amenity a student could want. In actuality, with over 30,000 students living on-site, it is the biggest residential institution in Asia. 6 institutes, 14 faculties, 140 departments, four multidisciplinary centers, a constituent college for women, and three-component schools make up BHU Affiliated Colleges.

In addition to many other fields of study, BHU provides UG, PG, Research, and Diploma programs in the humanities, social sciences, technology, medicine, science, fine arts, and many more. The university's admission exam determines who gets admitted to these courses. Admissions to BHU's undergraduate and graduate programs will be made using the NTA-conducted Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The Research Entrance Test (RET) is administered by BHU to candidates for PhD admission.

BHU has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for teacher and student exchange programs with more than 40 domestic and foreign universities. Numerous international colleges have partnered with BHU, thus every year a large number of students from all over the world come to study here.
