Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur is recognized as one of India's premier engineering institutions. Since 2020, its rankings have shown consistent improvement, securing the 30th position among engineering colleges in India according to the NIRF 2023. Additionally, it holds the 66th spot in the overall category by NIRF 2023.
Founded in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development alongside seven other IITs, IIT Jodhpur offers a range of undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), postgraduate diploma, and PhD programs through its 10 departments and 3 schools. The flagship courses include BTech and MBA. Admissions for 2024 are based on national-level entrance exams such as JEE Advanced for BTech and GATE for postgraduate programs. For the MBA program, admissions are determined by CAT scores, with fees ranging from INR 8 lakh to INR 8.3 lakh.
The IIT Jodhpur cutoff for BTech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) for 2023 was 2408. In the 2024 placement season, the institute recorded a placement rate of 86%. IIT Jodhpur is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, a comprehensive library, and computer centers. Hostel accommodations are provided separately for boys and girls.
