

Scholarship
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) offers a range of scholarships to support deserving and financially challenged students across its 100 courses. These scholarships, provided by various university departments, UGC, and other organizations, aim to assist students pursuing UG, PG, Ph.D./M.Phil. levels in diverse fields.
JNU Scholarships Overview:

Merit-cum-Means Scholarships: For needy and meritorious students with family income not exceeding INR 2,50,000 per annum. Applicable to B.A./M.A. programs.

Ford Foundation Scholarships: Awarded to meritorious M.A. Programme students in the School of International Studies, providing INR 700 per month.

Prof. Ramesha Rao Scholarship and Travel Grant: Granted to Cancer Biology program students and M.Phil./Ph.D. students presenting papers in related conferences, offering INR 3,000 per month and a travel grant of INR 30,000.

Tendulkar Scholarship: Provided to two meritorious students from the Centres of School of Social Sciences by rotation, offering INR 400 per month for two years.

Prof. Nurul Hasan Scholarship: Awarded to two students of the 2nd year M.A./M.Sc./MCA with the highest CGPA at the end of the first year, providing INR 1500 per month for one year.

Jawahar Bhawan Trust Scholarship: Offered to ten students maintaining CGPA of 5.5 in the 3rd semester of MA/M.Sc. and 5th semester for MCA, awarding INR 1000 per month for a year.

Prof. MJK Thavaraj MCM Scholarship: Granted to meritorious M.A. (Economics) 1st-year students, providing two scholarships worth INR 300 each per month and INR 2000 as a contingency.

D S Gardi Sanskrit Scholarship: Annually awarded to two M.A. students of Sanskrit Studies for a period of two years based on first-semester performance.

Prof. Gouri Shankar Singhal Merit Scholarship: Awarded to M.Sc. (SLS) 2nd-year students with the highest CGPA at the end of 3rd semester, providing INR 1000 per month for one year.
JNU Fellowships:

Sungum Sudhar Fellowship: Awarded to two students with confirmed PhD status and a 6.5 grade in Masters (MA & MPhil) program, rewarding two students for three years.

SYLFF Fellowship: Available for PhD students with an approved topic, having at least two years remaining, rewarding INR 22,000 per month for three years.

Fox International Fellowship: Annually awarded to 1 or 2 students in fields like Economics, Finance, Political Science, International Relations, Law, and Contemporary History, providing a fellowship for three years.

UGC-CSIR Junior Research Fellowship: Awarded to students qualifying in national-level tests, with rewards as per the norms of the relevant organization.

UGC-Scholarships and Fellowship: Available for meritorious students, women candidates, category, minority students, foreign nationals, single girl child, and rank holders at UG, PG, Ph.D. levels, with rewards as per organization norms.

State Government Fellowship: Awarded to 1 or 2 students, tenable for one year and renewable based on academic progress.

Junior Research Fellows under this fellowship may assist the university in its teaching programs.

Okita Memorial Fellowship: Awarded to meritorious Indian students pursuing studies/research in Japan or India's Relations with Japan, providing two fellowships of INR 5000 per month each.

G. Parthasarathi Endowment Fellowship: Awarded to four economically weaker students, providing INR 1000 per month initially for one year, renewable for another year based on academic performance.

Australian High Commission Fellowship: Awarded to a PhD student working on a subject concerning Australian Study, offering INR 3500 per month plus an annual contingency grant of INR 6000.

Special Fellowships for SC/ST and PH students: Awarded to deserving candidates for one or two semesters, providing INR 12000 per month.

Dr. Sheila Zurbrigg Fellowship: Offers one-time assistance of a maximum of INR 2000 to a deserving student of the Centre of Social Medicine and Community Health, School of Social Sciences.

Dr. Prafulla K. Pani Research Fellowship: Short-term fellowship of INR 8000 per month awarded to one student pursuing research at the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine.

Posco Fellowship: Awarded to 10 undergraduate meritorious students in the Korean language programme, offering a cash prize equivalent to US $500 (approximately) to each.

Nippon Foundation (Japan) Fellowship: Awarded to two students annually for three years, providing a fellowship at the rate of INR 15000 per month.

Korean Foundation (Korea) Fellowship: Awarded to meritorious M.Phil./Ph.D., M.A., and UG students, providing two fellowships of INR 10000 per month to M.Phil./Ph.D., INR 20,000 contingency for the first two years to M.Phil./Ph.D., and two scholarships of INR 1000 per month each for a period of two years to undergraduate students.

Com. H L Parwana Research Stipend: Awarded to M.Phil. students working in the areas of Banking, Trade Union, and Allied Areas, providing a research stipend of INR 5000 per month.

Swamy Pranavananda Memorial Research Fellowship: Awarded annually to an M.Phil. student pursuing studies for promotion in Indian Philosophy, Culture, and Civilization, with rewards as per the department.
