Overview
National Law University Jodhpur, also known as NLU Jodhpur, is one of the top five among 23 NLUs. The University was established in 1999 under the NLUJ Act as sanctioned by the Rajasthan State Legislature in the same year. The Law University is a member of the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). In 2020, it was ranked four and five for Law by the NIRF and The Week, respectively. It was also ranked six and eight among all NLUs as per the NIRF and the CLAT cut off, respectively.
The University offers BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), LLM, MBA, PhD, DLitt and LLD programmes in various facets of Law such as Constitutional Law, Business Law, and Trade Law, International Law, Criminal Law and Intellectual Property Rights Law. Apart from these courses, the University also offers PG programmes under distance education in collaboration with IMTCDL/IMT. It has more than 40 permanent and visiting faculty members. The University also conducts moot court competitions for Law students. For this, it has two moot courtrooms with an exact replica of actual court.
